The Ante, is a nickel put into the pot before the hand is dealt. The five cards dealt to each player are Ks, Kd, Jd, 5c, and 3d. Three of a kind is a good hand to have. After the deal, betting begins. When one player raises, another raises. This goes on until all five players have their hand revealed. In the example shown above, Dennis raised an earlier bet, but the blinds have not yet been tallied.<\/p>\n
Regardless of the number of players, every game of poker has some similar rules. A player must make a forced bet, either through an ante or blind bet. The dealer then deals out the cards one at a time to each player. The cards are dealt face-up or face-down, depending on the poker variant. Players can develop a hand between rounds of betting. If the player with the highest hand wins the bet, they win the game.<\/p>\n
